We began the 2013 eClinicalWorks National Users Conference by asking our San Antonio users what they love about their city. Here is what one had to say:
“I love the incredible food, diverse culture, beautiful atmosphere, friendly people, and of course we have the Alamo,” said Lisa Gonzalez, clinical business analyst for WellMed.
The first official day began with a fabulous Keynote. White River Family Practice and Unity Health Care were recognized during the Opening Keynote for receiving the HIMSS Davies Award of Excellence. The award credits these organizations for their outstanding achievement in the implementation and value gained from health information technology, specifically EHRs. HealthNet was also recognized as the Grand Prize winner of the eClinicalWorks Improving Healthcare Together® Video Contest.
Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks, took the stage, delivering an address regarding where the company is today and where we are headed. The number that motivates him is one: each doctor and each patient. Girish emphasized that he is building a company that will be around for decades. He gave an exclusive look at just a handful of the 500 enhancements coming in the much-anticipated Version 10, the strength of which lies in its simplicity. A large portion of these advancements were suggested and voted on by customers. Some of these include ICD-10 features, Meaningful Use Stage 2 capabilities, imaging in the Progress Note, new approaches to documenting visits, and many, many others. Population health management with eClinicalWorks Care Coordination Medical Record (CCMR), patient engagement tools through its healow™ platform and eClinicalWorks Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) services were also showcased.
Girish concluded by reiterating that, at eClinicalWorks, we are dedicated to building bridges to better care and:
We do the big things for small customers
We do the big things for big customers
We do the small things for all customers.
Friday afternoon saw the opening of the Exhibit Hall with 35 exhibitors, including interactive stations where you can test-drive featured products. Attendees also experienced various hands-on training courses, eClinicalWorks Theater and Breakout Sessions. Multiple education sessions and events were offered for attendees, including those related to the users forum, community health centers and enterprise organizations. Attendees concluded their night with a special River Walk Crawl.
Today, we had a busy day of packed sessions and will host our Southern Celebration immediately following the conclusion of these. More on this will follow tomorrow.
Be sure to join us tomorrow for sessions related to ICD-10, MU Stage 2, population health, patient engagement, interoperability, Patient-Centered Medical Homes, revenue cycle management and many others. Prepare for an exciting day!
